VGA Cable

In the last four months I have moved a total of 5 times.

In 5 moves I have lost stuff, my VGA cable went missing as well as my mini mac VGA converter. Which means I have been without a PC. I have been left with my iPad and iPhone. Not a terrible thing. Don't get me wrong. I've had the Internet. Well apart from that 1 week I spent at my friends who had just moved into their new house and hadn't set up the Internet. That week taught me a lot about myself and my constant need to be connected to people and things outside of Cornwall.

I've had a serious binge on living outside the Internet. But at the end of the day I realise I can make time for both, because I love both.

So I went and bought a VGA cable from a computer spares shop today for £4.99

It may look boring, but not having one of these has stopped me turning my computer on for 5 months. I am dreading the amount of emails I will have to scroll through and the fact it was due a defrag before I packed it up and I will end up spending a whole day setting it up and sorting it out. But it will be worth it.

I have a massive backlog of fashion, food, beauty, hair posts to write and photograph.

Nail Rock Nail Wraps - Tribal Gold

The spending ban is going well, I have stuck to it and in a way it saddens me just how much money I usual spend on all this stuff. My savings and current account are about a million times healthier than they have been in a long time. I haven't even touched my beauty card points of £10 gift voucher for boots.

I was awear that at some point this month I'd run out of fake nails/things to disguise just how horibble mine are. Unfortunately suffering with ezmar on my hands for nearly 7 months now and wearing fake nails to cover my crumbling nails they are not having fun. Oh and a fake nail ripped off and took half my nail with it a few months ago. The majority of them have recovered but two of them just refuse to cooperate.

So as my friend bought me a set of Nail Rock's for Christmas I decided to give them another go. I've had a terrible time with them ever time I'd used them before. Mainly because I am constantly in a rush. So I sat down knowing I'd have a few hours if necessary to attempt to do them properly.

I still can't get to grips with them. I still can't put them on without creases. But I can now make them stay on for a few more days without getting annoyed that they're peeling off. I honestly think it's going to take someone to do them for mr for them to be done properly. Me and nail foils just don't seem to get on. But I really want to.

Does anyone else have a problem with them? Or even better has anyone been able to do them hassle free who has any tips? Help me, I really want to love them. But right now I can't :(

New Year blogging Resolutions

I have been a super bad blogger for a long time now. There's no excuse for it other than I just really haven't had the motivation for it and to me it's pointless to do something unless you're really enjoying it. But with the new year I am determined to start this, and my other blogs up again as I really enjoy writing at the moment.

So this year, my new year resolution is to get my Internet life back in order again. That and make this the year I actually start saving money properly and not all of it on hair, make-up, nails and clothes. I looked at my yearly spending summary the other day, last year I spent over £2000 on hair, make-up, nails and clothes. I spent about £200 a month on them. To me that's just under a weeks wage. Which is slightly insane. So I will be putting myself on a strict-ish financial diet.

January is a no spend month. This means I will attempt to not spend any money on beauty products. With sale signs a plenty everywhere I look and constant emails for various high street/online shops this is pretty painful. Luckily with it just having been Christmas and my birthday I have a whole load of goodies to enjoy. I do have a trump card though, I have about £20 saved up on my Superdrug beauty card and a £10 gift voucher for boots. So technically I am not spending money so I will be allowing this if I get desperate.

L-R James Brown: Colour Enhance, Imperial Leather: Limited Editions Bewitching Blackberry Blossom and Wild Fig Bath Creme, Gorgeous by Gok: Bag of Indulgence, homemade lipbalm/handcream, Beauty Treats: Stars and Hearts Glitter Palette, Nail Rock: Designer Nail Wraps, Imperial Leather: Limited Editions Enchanting white willow and bluebell bath creme, No7 mini Beautiful Skin set

I also did a bit of cheeky sale shopping at Boots in December and got my hands on the No7 mini Beautiful Skin set (eye make-up remover 30ml, hot cloth cleanser 50ml, day cream 25ml, night cream 25ml, muslin face cloth and headband) for £8.00 and James Brown Colour Enhance (High Gloss conditioner 250ml, Colour Enhance conditioner 250ml and Hair Revive Dry Shampoo 150ml) for £7.50

That beautiful purple case in the middle is Gorgeous by Gok bag of indulgence which includes: Body Wash with rose oil 200ml, Body Lotion with rose oil 200ml, Bath Essence 200ml, Body Butter with argan oil 180ml, Body Polish with almond oil 180ml and a body puff. My mum got me this as an extra Christmas present because I didn't see my family till after christmas and she said it was super cheap in the sale and the colour of the box reminded her of me.

So I do have a lot of lovely things to keep me going while I go cold turkey on the spending.

Anyone else having a financial detox this year, what are you going to do? Find something nice in the sales that you can suggest when I'm allowed to spend again?

I needed a new purse

My old purse was on it's last legs, pretty much destroyed. So I've been on the look out for a new one for months. Why months? Because I'm super fussy with bags and purse. They must be beautiful  and equaly practical.

I'm a hoarder so I keep on my receipts, train tickets, film stubs etc. etc. Which means I need a fairly big purse, but at the same time it's got to fit in my slightly tiny handbags, but it also has to be able to double as a clutch in case I don't want to take a handbag out.

So finding a purse I love is difficult. I find one and think it's lovely, but not quite perfect, and carry on the hunt.

But I think I've cracked it this time. There's a little boutique in Falmouth called Dizzy and it sells lots of lovely things including clothes, jewelry, bags and obviously purses. Looking though the shelves of purses this immediately  caught my eye because of the colours. Then I looked a little closer, it's a marvel purse!! Yes it's covered in cells from marvel comics. I looked lovely, it had comic books on it and low and behold when I opened it it fanned out super big. I was on to a winner. Now for the final check. The price. Now for something that's going to carry my money around, I don't want ti to clean me out so I have nothing to put in it. £11.95. Bargain. So I scooped it up and started looking around the rest of the shop. There's a few necklaces in there I might go back for when I've got a few more pennies.

If you ever happen to be in Falmouth, Dizzy is a lovely shop to find a few quirky bits in.

Anyone else have their own favorite boutiques in their town/city? And secret treasures you feel like sharing?

10 thing I love about coconut oil

One product I keep re-buy every time it's empty is Superdrug coconut oil. Retailing for £1.99 (just found a tenner mixed up in all my receipts trying to find the price, win) usual on a two for offer.

1) It's multipurpouse. Hair, skin, even cooking. Well I don't use it for cooking but apparently you can. Maybe not this brand tho...

2) It's a solid until you touch it then it melts into an oil. Which means when you (I) drop it on the floor it doesn't spill every where and it's wasted.

3) The price. I spend £1.99 every 2-3 months for a moisturiser, hair mask, itch relief cream, etc etc. I really don't need any other hair product as this is amazing, I'm just a sucker for trying new things.

ASOS Sale haul

When ASOS emailed me to tell me that there was an extra 10% off there 70% off sale a girl just couldn't resist. After scrolling though all the beautiful things, I realising that my wardrobe is spilling onto the floor and I shouldn't buy any more clothes till I can fit them into the massive double wardrobe (the only piece of furniture I own) I shouldn't buy any more. So ended up with these lovely things.

ASOS MADDOX Swallow print lace up flat shoes, £11.80 with discount. I needed some new flats for work as I have worn every pair I have out. All the soles are falling apart and I should chuck half of them out but I can't bring myself to do it. I might actually have to make someone else do it. I own two suitcases of shoes. Mainly heels and wedges. But I'm starting to think two suitcases is an awful lot. I'm talking to massive suitcases as well.

ASOS Open Fang Ring, in gold and silver. Gold £3.60 with discount, Silver £2.70 with discount. I just couldn't decide. Am I a silver or gold girl. So I got them both. Because of the eczema on my right hand they only really fit on my ring finger. Bad luck but oh well. So at the moment I am swapping them to match the colours of my outfits. I'm not normal a jewelry person. I just have a few bits of what I guess is decried as "quirky" pieces. These are the latest addition.

Nail Rock Toonland Nail wraps in Cupcakes and Teddies. £3.60 each with discount. I haven't had the best experience with nail wraps but these where way to cute (and cheap) not to buy so on a whim I decided I'd try them out. Look out for a review.

Sunday Sale Shopping

Well not technically a Sunday shop. I order these at the beginning of the week and picked them up yesterday. But I slept pretty much all day today so I haven't actually bought anything today.

It's my favorite time of year at the moment. Sale time!

This was a bit of a New Look website splurge. My nearest New Look is kinda small. So I has a super small rail of sale clothes. So every so often I have a look at the website. After looking over nearly every item in the sale. A lot of things I loved but weren't in my size :( So I ended up getting 2 floral bodies for £3 each, originally £9.99 each. A pair of shorts for £6 originally £19.99 which I've had my eye on for a while. And a pink quilted bowler bag for £9 originally £17.99. I did need a new bag anyway...

All in all, I spent £21 and saved £36.96! I love saving more than I've spent. If it hadn't of been in the sale I would of spent £57.96. To be honest if it wasn't in the sale I wouldn't of bought the shorts, and decided between one of the bodies. But just the bag and one of the bodies would of cost me £28.98 so I did pretty well.

I've got a few bodies now. My love of them started with my white asos cut out body which was bought as part of my Lady Gaga fancy dress outfit. But that's a whole different story. It was reused as a Black Sawn inspired fancy dress later on. After that I realised how much I loved them as apposed to tops. They keep their shape much better and because I love high waisted shorts/trousers/shirts I pretty much always have my tops tucked in. So bodies work well for me. Also I have a pretty boring shirt for the night club. Which I've actually lost all but two of the buttons for so I tend to wear bodies or vest under it and tie it up.

I always wear shorts to the night club as well. Mainly fun interesting shorts which make me look less in uniform than I would. I now have a vast collection of lovely hotpants to wear to work. And these ones have just been added. Despite how much I wear them I still think £20 for some material, however pretty it is, that only just covers my bum is a bit to much. Although after wearing them just 10 times is £2 a wear. My mum always taught me clothes as an investment. It makes me feel so much better. And it helps explain things to my dad. I never tell him how much I spend, I tell him cost per wear. Or just outright lie because he'd rather I save my money.

I am super fussy when it comes to bags or purses. So buying this one without seeing it in person was a bit of a risk, but it paid off. I have a lovely dark brown Jump bag my mum got me for christmas, but as summer is coming in I wanted a lighter colour, as when summer comes my clothes get lighter and my accessories should also. My criteria for a bag isn't particularly bad. But I am picky. It need to be exactly the right size. Unless I am going away for a few days I never want a massive bag because I just fill it with stuff I don't need. But it does have to be big enough to hold my essentials without squashing them all up. Typically i am usually carrying around ipad, camera, phone, lots of keys, sos nail kit, work apron (Smirnoff kindly gave me my own), purse and a cardigan. I took it for a spin today and everything fitted nicely. I also love having lots of pockets. This one may only have 3 but they're in the right place. It has a big pocket on the outside of the bag, a phone pocket inside and a large zip pocket. Lovely.

Anyone else picked up some super bargins in the sales recently?
