Gillette Venus Pro Skin Sensitive Disposable Razors

The other day to my dismay I found my usual razor was blunt as. Don't you just hate it when that happens? So I bopped down into town with the idea of buying a new set of blades. However, razor blades are ridiculously expensive. And despite my dabbeling in waxing and hair remove creams my skin hates them. Oh how I wish I could wax one every 4 weeks but no, my skin decised to come up in some seriously nasty red bumps whatever brand I use. Maybe it would be different if I went to a salon and got it doe professionally, but no salons where i am are open at 7pm when I actually have time to go and do it. So until I find salon social time off, I am condemned to razors.

I picked these up on a whim. Because they where new and interesting and introductory price of £8.99 for 3 razors, about £4 cheaper than my usual blades.

Where they worth it? Well, when I was actually using them they made my skin feel super silky, despite cutting up my knees a little. Which I haven't done in ages so I thought that was a bit weird. They have the same moisturising strips that the non-disposable venus razors have. I love the feeling after using a new blade it just feels so much more de-fuzzing, especially after using a blunt blade. So getting out the shower I was super happy with super smooth legs. Brilliant. I'm always weary with razors as I have super sensitive skin and I can feel the razor rash coming on half way though shaving if I'm going to get it.

But then it all went wrong. I got dressed to go to work at the night club, and on my walk down their it started to rain. When I say rain I mean chuck it down. Which socked my tights. And then it happened. The dreaded razor rash burn. It was painful. After drying off at work, and luckily not having to walk back in the rain I got home to discover red dots all over my legs. Not happy. I slapped on some Coconut oil and jumped into bed hoping it would all be okay in the morning.

When I woke up the red dots had gone. Good ol' coconut oil, but I had some stubble. What the hell? I'm not talking just a little mm of hair, but full on need to shave my legs again stubble. I'd shaved my legs no more than 18 hours ago and I need to re-do them. With my normal razor I'll have a good 4 days before I feel the need to have another shave, but this was less than a day.

Unfortunately, I hate buying things I already have, so until I have used all 3 I will be having to shave ever day and cover myself in moisturiser. Thank god summer has failed to happen and wearing black tights/leggings is still expectably.

Anyone else bought anything recently which has failed dramatically to live up to expectations?

Elegant Touch: Polished: Misty Grey False Nails Review

So a new week and new set of false nails.

This weeks choice Elegant Touch: Polished in Misty Grey. Which where £5.25 from Superdrug, I think they where on a £1.50 off offer.

I don't usually go for just a block colour on my nails, it's mainly french tips or something a bit fun. Mainly because a lot of people see my nails and it may sound weird, I feel because so many people look at my hands, I feel they should look nice. And these have not disappointed. I put them on on Friday morning and the compliments flew in. A couple of regulars that come into the cafe for coffee in the morning saw them and said they looked lovely. Then where surprised when I said they where just stick ons. So that was nice. 

This is a photo of them 2 days on and 3 shifts later. They've stayed super well. I work with my hands all the time (minds out of the gutter people). Making coffee and bar-tending as well as cleaning. So much cleaning. My nails chip a lot quicker than manufactures promise. But these are holding their own at the moment. Havn't had to replace one yet so that's good as usually after 3 shifts I would have done something stupid and had one flicked off. 

I also love the colour of them more and more, I think I'll like them even more after a little bit of a fake tan session. Just to make them stand out a little bit more.

Anyone else have any recommendations for fake nails with staying power?

Sunday Shopping

Sunday is fast becoming my shopping day. Last Sunday I managed to find this white tee dress in New Look for £2! Just £2! I thought it would be a nice simple thing to slip on with some fancy saddles when then sun comes out and I have a day off. Both of which seem unlikely.

As I've been so busy working I haven't really had time to do any washing and I'm down to bottom of the draw skanky pants. So I thought I'd better buy some new ones. 3 for £7 in New Look and as one of the sets on knickers matched a bra I thought I might as well get that as well. This doesn't happen much in my local New Look.

I also had a little Superdrug shop once again. Picked up Argan Oil Flexible Finishing Spray and Hydrating Masque as the hair treatment is super good. Reviews to come. Finishing Spray and Hydrating Masque where both £4.99. I also picked up Gliss Hair repair because it was on offer for 95p! As I was running out of make-up wipes I picked up Nivea Daily Essentials Facial Cleansing Wipes. I am super lazy when it comes to taking my make-up off at the end of the day. It's either super late or I've been running around all day so there is no remove, cleanse, tone etc. etc. I just rub a wipe all over my face, hope I've got it all off and fall into bed.

I now have 720 points on my Superdrug card!

Mum's Birthday

My Mum loves kitchen gadgets, and although I cannot compete with the £400 Kenwood blender thing my Dad bought her, I knew she'd love an Ice Cream maker as it's one of the gadgets she doesn't have. She loved it. Me and my bother went halves on this present as although £39.99 is super reasonable for an Ice Cream maker, my brother is a poor student, and I am poor graduate. I rang her a few days after she got it and she'd already made a ridiculous amount of ice cream and gone though half the recipe book that came with this. I order this from firebox but after having a look it's no longer available.

Brother Birthday

I got my brother two t-shirts and a marmite pot key ring for his birthday from Truffle Shuffle. I did buy him three t-shirts to begin with but the jaws one was out of stock so I changed it for a keyring of his favorite childhood food. He and I would spend our childhood battling it out on Mario Kart. I still remember the one time I beat him and he had a sulk :) We also watched a lot of star trek with our dad. And although he is named after Scott Tracy from ThunderBirds (my choice) I couldn't find any t-shirts of him (Vergil seems to have all the fame) So Star Trek was the next best thing. By the time I'd rang him to say happy birthday he was already wearing it and loving it.

Once again another firebox find. My Dad likes tea and photography oh and Dr. Who so I think these went down well. Also the fact I remembered went down well.

Dad's Birthday

Another firebox, they are not paying me honest. I got my dad the Spock (blue) one. I rang him to say Happy Fathers day and he was already wearing it. Result.

Living away from home, I love internet shopping for presents. It makes it about a million times less stressful, particularly since I work 60 hour weeks and anti-social hours for the post office, or even shops for that matter.

Foxy Locks Extensions, Superior Set: Colour 90 Platinum Blonde

Guess what came on Friday?!

My Foxy Locks extensions!

I Have been wearing extensions on and off now for the last four years. My hair never seems to grow longer than shoulder length. And that was even before I started experimenting with bleach and every shade and colour under the sun. It's been everything from black to green to pillar box red to purple to platinum blonde. And about several other colours.

Right now it's platinum blonde, which is more of a problem when looking for extensions. In extension colours Bleach Blonde 613 and Light Ash Blonde 60 are too yellowy for me. My previous Blonde extentions where Headkandy Bunny Blonde, which needed about four toning shampoos till they where close enough to wear, ut they were still a bit too yellow. I think toning them that much kinda killed them a little bit too, they'd always tangle and shed super badly. But they were so beautiful and soft and lovely when they came out the packet in April, I was almost tempted to try and get some yellow in my hair so they'd match. But after such a long process to get to Platinum Blonde from a super deep dark chestnut brown, I still don't want to give it up. The process pretty much destroyed my hair, which is now super short.

I'm so glad I got the Superior set which is 215 grams. Despite having super short hair, it is unbelievable think, and seems to grow outwards not downwards. It's so super soft. It holds curls so well even without hair spray (as you will see from the photos). 

With the Superior Set came; 1 quad weft with four clips (The Volumizer), two four clip wefts, two three clip wefts, two two clip wefts and four one clip wefts. After playing around with them a bit I think I've settled on the pefect way to clip mine in. This goes, working from bottom of the hair up; four clip, four clip, both three clip going from top of each ear to back, then two clip either side and the four clip Volumizer at the crown. With the single clips going wherever I feel are needed. I also add five one clip lilac streaks I put in between the three clip and two clip layers. If that makes any sense?

I absolutely love these extensions, they are the perfect colour, which means they don't have to go though the toning hell my Headkandy ones went though. They're getting super well looked after at the moment, mainly because they cost about 3 days of work (I tend to think of everything I buy in terms of how long it takes me to earn it at work).

The extensions have shedded slightly since I got them on Friday, but they do get worn a lot. But not half as much as my Headkandy ones used to. I hooved on Sunday and there was just so much hair on my floor. They also don't tangle as much either. The weft I wore at the bottom of my hair line, with the Headkandy set, would always tangle really badly which meant it shedded horrible when combed, even with a tangle tamer.

Overall, I really love these extensions, and I would urge anyone who's undecided between the 160g Deluxe and 215g Superior set to spend the little extra money to buy the Superior set, after having it, I can't imagin going back to 160g full head sets.

The waves I put in last night and they have lasted all day at work (a nine hour shift of running around). So they went in at quarter to eight this morning and came out at about ten o'clock this evening. With no hair spray!
